Aligner success is a team effort, the trays do their job, and you do yours. These simple habits make the difference between good results and great results.
Daily Aligner Habits
- Wear aligners 20–22 hours every day, this is non-negotiable for staying on schedule
- Remove only to eat, drink (anything but water), and clean your teeth
- Always brush and floss before putting aligners back in, trapping food under trays causes cavities
- Rinse aligners with cold water when removed (hot water warps plastic)
- Store in the case provided, lost aligners mean delays and replacement costs
- Don’t "skip ahead" to the next tray, follow your prescribed schedule exactly
Cleaning Your Aligners
- Clean every morning: soak in aligner cleaning crystals or a small amount of clear antibacterial soap
- Gently brush with a soft toothbrush — NO toothpaste (it’s abrasive and clouds the plastic)
- Rinse thoroughly before reinserting
- Avoid soaking in mouthwash with color (stains trays)
- At minimum: rinse with cold water every time you remove them
- Clean your case weekly
Managing Discomfort & Staying on Track
- Mild soreness for 1–3 days when switching to a new tray is normal, take ibuprofen if needed
- Use the chewies (provided) for 5–10 minutes after inserting new trays to seat them properly
