What is 5D dentistry at Innova Smiles?

5D dentistry refers to our approach of combining five dimensions of digital diagnosis: 3D bone and tooth imaging (CBCT), 3D facial scanning (RayFace), digital intraoral scanning (TRIOS 5), digital photography, and video analysis. Together, these create a complete 'digital twin' of your smile and facial structure, allowing Dr. Fatima to plan treatments with unprecedented precision and show you your expected results before treatment begins.

Does 5D imaging cost extra at Innova Smiles?

The RayFace 3D facial scan and comprehensive digital records are included as standard in our Signature New Patient Visit ($149). CBCT cone beam imaging is performed when clinically indicated for complex cases such as implant planning, and the cost is discussed transparently before the scan.

Is CBCT dental scanning safe?

Yes. Our RAY Vision 16 CBCT system uses ultra-low radiation — significantly less than a traditional full-mouth series of X-rays — while providing far more diagnostic information. The radiation from a dental CBCT scan is comparable to a few hours of normal background radiation exposure.

What is the RayFace scanner and how does it work?

The RayFace is a 3D facial scanner that captures your full face in under 0.5 seconds, creating a photorealistic 3D model. This digital model is used to design your smile in the context of your facial features — ensuring that any cosmetic changes (veneers, implants, aligners) look natural and proportional. You can see a simulation of your future smile before treatment begins.

Does Innova Smiles take traditional impressions?

Rarely. Our TRIOS 5 intraoral scanner creates accurate digital impressions in minutes, replacing traditional putty impressions that many patients find uncomfortable. Digital impressions are more accurate, faster to process, and eliminate the mess and gagging associated with traditional impression materials.
